Concorde Medical Assistant Diploma Program (Dallas & Grand Prairie)

Concorde’s Medical Assistant diploma program is designed to prepare students for both administrative and clinical roles in healthcare environments. The program, available at Concorde’s Dallas and Grand Prairie campuses, takes approximately 9 months (32 instructional weeks) to complete, covering 800 total contact hours. It offers a blended learning approach, combining online coursework with hands-on lab training and a 230-hour externship, giving students the opportunity to apply their knowledge in real-world settings.

The program is structured to equip students with essential skills in patient care, medical office procedures, and clinical practices, making graduates well-prepared for entry-level positions in various healthcare facilities, including clinics, hospitals, and private practices. New classes begin frequently, ensuring flexibility for students with varying schedules.

The curriculum focuses on developing both clinical and administrative expertise. Key subjects include anatomy and physiology, medical billing and coding, pharmacology, and medical law and ethics. Students will also gain proficiency in essential clinical tasks such as phlebotomy, EKG administration, patient intake, and vital signs measurement. The hands-on lab training provides 240 hours of practice in simulated medical environments, allowing students to refine their skills under the supervision of experienced instructors.

In addition to the technical skills, students will learn critical communication and organizational skills necessary for working in fast-paced healthcare environments. The final component, a 230-hour externship, places students in actual healthcare facilities, offering invaluable real-world experience and the opportunity to network with industry professionals.

Concorde’s Medical Assistant program is offered in a blended format, where up to 50% of coursework is completed online. Online learning is supported by a dedicated success coach to help students stay on track. The in-person lab sessions provide a collaborative environment where students can practice clinical procedures with hands-on guidance. The externship ensures students transition smoothly from the classroom to professional healthcare settings.

Class schedules are flexible, with options for day and evening classes to accommodate students with work or personal responsibilities. This flexibility ensures that students can balance their education with other commitments.
