Stepful Medical Assistant Program

Stepful’s Fort Worth Medical Assistant Program is a four-month online training course designed for students aiming to become Certified Clinical Medical Assistants (CCMA). With a 100% virtual classroom and a flexible part-time schedule, this program offers the convenience of studying from home while preparing for the National Healthcareer Association’s (NHA) CCMA certification exam. After completing online coursework, students undertake 80 hours of in-person clinical externship in a local healthcare facility, gaining hands-on experience.

This program covers a wide range of medical assisting responsibilities, including clinical patient care, administrative tasks, and preparation for certification exams. Students learn essential skills such as phlebotomy, EKG procedures, infection control, and patient care coordination. Stepful also provides support services such as career coaching, resume assistance, and interview preparation, ensuring students are ready to secure full-time roles in healthcare settings upon graduation.

The curriculum is divided into four sections over 16 weeks. During weeks 1-4, students cover foundational topics, including healthcare systems, medical terminology, and anatomy. Weeks 5-8 focus on clinical skills like phlebotomy, infection control, and EKG administration. In weeks 9-13, students shift to administrative responsibilities, learning medical law, ethics, and customer service. The final weeks (14-16) are dedicated to certification exam preparation and job readiness through personalized coaching.

Stepful’s program is structured to fit the needs of busy students. Classes are conducted entirely online, allowing for flexible morning or evening schedules. Students attend virtual instructor-led sessions twice a week, with part-time options available to accommodate other commitments. Following the coursework, students participate in an unpaid in-person externship to fulfill clinical training requirements.

Upon completion of the program, students are eligible to sit for the CCMA certification exam through the NHA. Graduates also receive personalized support in finding externships and securing full-time employment, with services such as resume building and interview coaching.
